UPS delivered a package from Kansas University yesterday.  Inside were lots of early instar monarch caterpillars.  I have placed them in a tank filled with milkweed.  Now they are just waiting for the students to arrive and take care of them.  The students will raise the caterpillars until the adult butterfly stage. From there they will tag the butterfly and send them off on their journey to Mexico.  To learn more about the monarch caterpillar, check out this source
